--- background ---

It’s only been a few weeks since classes have officially started for most students in the country however it is a common knowledge that not all of these students are ready to take on the new challenge. Not everyone has the privilege of being able to enroll themselves again and though enrolled, a lot has been struggling just to continue their learning journey.

The Department of Education has called the opening of classes a “victory” but this doesn’t mean that every student who chose to enroll has all the access to resources and materials needed for the new learning. Some rely heavily on their smartphones and others even have to go to internet cafes. Others have to share their modules because the ones printed were not enough and there is a lack of budget for that.

Other than these, problems like errors in the modules and mental health issues of both students and teachers also exist and are rampantly happening.

And so #ForBetterOrForWorse was created....

about
Derived from a very popular phrase often used in wedding vows, “for better or for worse” implies that we have to accept the result of our actions and decisions, may it be bad or good. We have to be committed in any situation, and take responsibility in any given time.
The advocacy campaign #ForBetterOrForWorse is built on this same thought. Due to the pandemic and the choice to pursue online classes even if not everyone is prepared for this, the least we could try to do is to help the struggling children and students have a better learning situation. This campaign is founded so that no one gets left behind by this pandemic, academically speaking. It is part of our duty to stick and work together, for better or for worse.
